Biography

Valery worked at the PLSD from summer of 2012 until summer of 2014. Valery graduated from FIU in the spring of 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, after which she became a paid post-baccalaureate research assistant for Dr. Pruden. Valery helped with the TEAM-UP for Kids study collecting data in preschool classrooms on teacher numeracy and spatial talk and assessing preschool children's numeracy and spatial skills. Valery also helped to transcribe teacher language using CHAT and CLAN.

Valery is now a doctoral student in the Developmental Psychology program at Georgia State University. She works with Dr. Şeyda Özçalışkan in the Gesture and Language Laboratory. Valery is a recipient of GSU's Language and Literacy Fellowship.
